On December 7, 2021, Parsons Police Officers were called to the 3000 block of Redwood for a report of a suspicious person digging through trash.

Officers located the reported suspect in the 1200 block of South 29th and discovered that it was Randall Gene Morris, 60 years old of Parsons.

Officers found that Morris had an active Felony warrant out of Labette County District Court for Probation Revocation. Corporal Ryan Shirk and Officer Donald Joy arrested Morris for the warrant. During the arrest they located a baggy containing a white paste. The paste field tested for positive Fentanyl. Marijuana was also located on his person.

Morris was transported to the Parsons Police Department without incident. Parsons officers are requesting the Labette County Attorney's Office file charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "I am delighted that our great citizens rally behind 'See It, Hear It, Report It' and notify our department if suspicious activity. This is just another positive reminder that you can make a difference by just keeping a watchful eye on your neighborhood. Fentanyl is a very dangerous substance. This is a drug that can kill you and has even claimed lives of officers across the nation due to how powerful it is just contacting it. It great to get even it off the street no matter the amount"
