Multiple Felony Charges Filed After Foot Chase

03/25/2022

On March 24, 2022, at approximately 3:45 pm Parsons officers were notified of an anonymous tip about Jason Anderson-Moseley being on his way to a residence in the 900 block of S 16th. Jason was wanted on multiple warrants out of Labette County, Allen County, and the City of Parsons.

Officers located the residence and watched for the vehicle that was described Jason would be in. Approximately 4:55 pm officers observed a white Chevy Equinox and witnessed Jason exit the vehicle. When Jason spotted the officers, he fled on foot from the vehicle. Corporal Ryan Shirk and Officer Rory Johnson gave chase and quickly caught Jason near a fenced in yard. Jason was safely taken into custody after the chase. A search of Jason and the vehicle that he was driving revealed narcotics, marijuana, and paraphernalia. Jason was transported to the Parsons Police Department and charges have been filed with the Labette County Court.

Jason was arrested on suspicion of two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Sales and Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer, and a Parsons Municipal Warrant for Failure to Appear. Jason is also being charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Failure to Register and Failure to Register, all of which are person felonies. This is a separate case that is being filed from the originating arrest.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "this was a successful arrest bringing a felon to justice. I want to thank officers Shirk and Johnson for a job well done. This arrest wouldn't have been possible without the help of an anonymous citizen and our partnership with the community. See It, Hear It, Report It, is successful in our community. The police department is thankful to the dedication of our citizens and their steadfast moral standards."

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It."
