On Friday January 25, 2019 Parsons Police Department along with Labette County Sheriffs Department, and Kansas Highway Patrol conducted a saturation patrol in Parsons, in a joint effort to combat the growing narcotics use and distribution in the area.

During the three-hour patrol, officers made 39 total traffic stops, and was able to make 8 total arrest with 2 of them being felony drug arrest, and 2 misdemeanor drug arrest. 1 driving under the influence drug arrest, 2 warrant arrest, and 1 driving while suspended arrest was also made.  

According to Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks, "this saturation patrol is only the tip of the iceberg for what we can accomplish with our partnerships. Creating the Kansas Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (K-CAT) is our long-term goal. Small joint operations with our partners will eventually turn into full-scale narcotics interdiction operations to kill this plague in our community. The end goal for K-CAT is to have no need for K-CAT."
