On September 1, 2019 at approximately 3:13 am, Parsons Police Officers were called in reference to suspicious activity around the Win-way ball fields. Officers were given a description of a small red truck that was seen taking something from one of the bathrooms and putting it in the truck.

Sergeant Brice Dickens was first to arrive on scene when he spotted a vehicle matching the description leaving the area. Dickens noticed there were items in the bed of the pick-up as well. Dickens attempted to conduct a traffic stop to investigate the reported burglary when the truck fled the area at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle fled out of Parsons east on Southern Avenue with Sergeant Dickens in pursuit. The vehicle, making numerous traffic infractions, continued from Southern Avenue then north to 24,000 and onto US 400. The pursuit continued east on 400 then to Trego road and north again into Neosho County. Finally stopping after approximately 28 miles around 80th and Victory where the vehicle drove through a land-owners gate and into a field. The vehicle continued into the field until it eventually got stuck. Dickens was joined by Labette County K9 Deputy Charles Brown. They found the vehicle unoccupied but followed two sets of tracks into a wooded area where the trail was lost.

The vehicle was later recovered along with shoes from the vehicles two occupants and identification papers and cards. In the vehicle marijuana and paraphernalia was found. There was also a box of items that belong to the City of Parsons, that came from Win-way ball field bathrooms.

Late morning on September 1, 2019 Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Officer Jeremy Stenstrom located two individuals wearing no shoes floating in the Neosho River. The two were apprehended and brought to the Parsons Police Department.

Katrina Beach, age 33 of Parsons, along with Langston Wayne Polk, age 23 of Parsons, were both arrested in connection to the burglary and the pursuit that ensued. Langston was found to have two arrest warrants from Neosho County Sheriff Department, one from Oswego Municipal Court, and one from Chetopa Municipal Court. Langston provided law enforcement with a false identification to avoid arrest as well.

Langston was also found to be in possession of $250,000 worth of stolen savings bonds. Langston will be charged through Labette County District Court.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks says "this is what 'See It, Hear It, Report It' is all about. Citizen sees suspicious activity, calls the police giving a good description of the activity and vehicle and burglary suspects are eventually arrested. I want to thank all of the citizens of Parsons and Labette County who call law enforcement to report suspicious activity. This is how we work as a team to keep our community safe."
