Stolen Car Recovered in Parsons

On November 14, 2019 Parsons Police Officers discovered a possible stolen vehicle from Texas after investigating another case. After the discovery officers conducted surveillance in the area watching for suspicious activity.

While watching the vehicle, two females entered the stolen 2008 Saturn Outlook and drove away. Sergeant Brice Dickens initiated a High-Risk Traffic Stop in the 100 block of South 27th. The driver was identified as Rachel Lynn Ashley, white female of Amarillo Texas. A search of the vehicle was conducted, drugs and paraphernalia were discovered in the car. Ashley was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, No Valid Driver's License, Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A passenger was identified as Lacinda Ann Morris, of Parsons, and later released at the scene.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks says, "I am proud of our officers for their incredible tenacity. Initiating surveillance is great police work and shows a high level of dedication to the job and this community. We will continue to grow as a department and bring offenders to justice. This yet another win for the Parsons community."
