Parsons Police Department Honors Employee's

03/05/2024

On Monday, March 4, 2024, the Parsons City Commission Meeting held at the Parsons Municipal Building had a special occasion, as several officers from the Parsons Police Department were recognized for their outstanding achievements and commitment to duty.

Officer Frank Pousher, in particular, was celebrated for his exemplary performance during a challenging 12-week field training program. In acknowledgment of his success, Officer Pousher was presented with his Field Training challenge coin, marking the culmination of his rigorous 430 hours of structured field training.

The Parsons Police Department field training program is one of only 28 agencies which have their field training programs approved by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (CPOST). This is a voluntary process in which the Parsons Police Department participated in to set future standards and benchmarking for all agencies in Kansas.

Furthermore, Officer Tyller White was formally introduced to the City Commission and officially sworn in during the ceremony. The significant moment was made even more special as Officer White's significate other proudly pinned on his badge, symbolizing his official entry into the Parsons Police Department.

Corporal Christian Smith was honored with the Officer of the Year Plaque for 2023 from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 704. This distinguished recognition reflects Cpl. Smith's exceptional dedication and service throughout the year.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the officers' unwavering dedication, Chief Robert Spinks highlighted the exemplary contributions of the Parsons Police Department to the community. Lieutenant Kyle Wiford took the opportunity to present Officer Frank Pousher with his well-deserved challenge coin during the ceremony.

The Parsons Police Department takes pride in all of the accomplishments of its officers and remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. The dedication and professionalism displayed by Corporal Smith serves as an inspiration to their peers and a source of pride for the city. The police department welcomes Officers Pousher and White to the ranks and looks forward to their distinguished careers.
