Parsons Police Make Arrest in Rape

Parsons Police Department officers responded to a report on Wednesday regarding a possible Rape.  During the initial report the victim was able to identify a white male suspect and his possible locations.

Parsons Police Officers found the suspect and he was transported to the Parsons Police Department for an interview with detectives. After the interview and a subsequent search of a residence in the 2700 block of Appleton, Zachary Chance Keath, white male, age 21 of Parsons, was arrested on suspicion of Rape and Aggravated Criminal Sodomy. Keath is currently being held at the Parsons City Jail awaiting his first appearance in Labette County District Court.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks says "this is an unfortunate incident and the victim's safety is our biggest concern at this point. In a community this size, incidents like this happen more often than are reported, we want anyone who is a victim to feel safe enough to report all crimes. In violent and sensitive cases, we as a department will strive to do our best and help guide victims to safety and aid."
