Coming September 1, 2024 - The new grant funded Domestic Violence Unit (DVU) will be staffed by Sgt Tony Adamson and a new Victim Advocate. The Safe House Advocate for Parsons will also be co-located with the DVU.
The DVU will include a High Risk Team (HRT) that will have representatives from the city and county prosecutors offices, helping agencies, DCF and other service and training providers including Labette Community College. This group will look to identify all available resources for victims and survivors beyond just enhanced prosecution efforts of a case-by-cade basis.
