School Resource Officer (SRO)

The School Resource Officer (SRO) program is ran through the Parsons Police Department and funded in part by USD 503. Parsons School Resource Officers are trained by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). The SRO program is based in the Parsons High school but operates in all USD 503 schools. The SRO provides security for all high school football and basketball home games and coordinates law enforcement efforts in the school. This position works closely with the teachers and establishes positive relationships with students giving them positive interactions with law enforcement officers. Safe Schools and Safer Students are the goals for our SRO Program.

The SRO has been an integral part of the Parsons Police Departments operations within the school and has proven invaluable during times of crisis. Our Current SRO is Corporal Robert 'Bobby' Queen. Corporal Queen has been with the Parsons Police Department for 18 years and has served as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Corporal, Sergeant and Detective and is now serving USD 503 in this important duty. Corporal Queen has a great relationship with students, faculty, and the community. Building trust and relationships for the future will be Corporal Queens role in all of USD 503 Schools.
